Charity donation via text message

A mobile Text Donation will lead to a premium charge on your supporter’s mobile phone bill, or will debit from available funds on a PAYG mobile.

Supporters wishing to donate via text message can simply respond to a charities appeal for funds by sending a short text message to an advertised charity short code. The campaign text number is set by our systems to charge at the appropriate and clearly advertised donation rate.

A text gift can (typically) be a single payment or initiate a recurring mobile payment to be debited at agreed intervals e.g. each week or month. The recurring contribution option can be stopped or started again at any time by your mobile donor.

Standard network rates for sending the message to a charity short code do apply. Donors then receive a thank you message within a few seconds. It is this ‘thank you’ message that charges the mobile phone. Within the reply message we can include a link to our compliant mobile Gift Aid form and ask people if they would like Gift Aid to apply to their donation.
