SMS Fundraising Service

SMSshortcodes.co.uk, whose SMS donation service allows charities to set up fundraising efforts whereby participants can make a donation using their mobile phone.

Each donation is charged to the donor’s mobile phone bill or from available funds on a non-contract phone. The donation can be achieved through sending a SMS request to a charity short code which is set at the charities published donation tariff.

The SMS donation can be a either a single gift or a recurring monthly contribution (to be debited until such time the donor wishes to stop). The mobile billing is managed automatically and each month our charity clients receive a SMS donation statement which can be claimed, thereafter; for each full calendar month following the commencement of their SMS fundraising campaign.

SMS donations use what’s called a ‘reverse-billed’ SMS short code set to facilitate a response charge of between 25p and £10.

With each SMS fundraising campaign we offer our ‘mobile gift aid’ application. This compliant declaration can be accessed from each donation message, taking less than 1 minute for a donor to complete and submit.
